Integration of advanced profile kit

User Profile

Advanced Profile Kit (APK), as described its author, is a module that glues several drupal modules together to give you a professional looking user profile page.

It has a relatively detailed help page, however I still spent quite some time to make it work, which partially is due to my unfamiliarity with the Panels module that APK requires. So for anyone who wants to use APK, I would suggest learning Panel module first. This is a very powerful module with which many amazing things can be done to enhance your drupal site. It has a good document here.

APK provides some nice default panel pages as well as a content type (uprofile) with many fields. If you already have some profile data associated with bio module but still want to have those panels and fields, you can do an import.
Go to APK's module folder, open "uprofile.inc" in include subfolder, and do an fields import in Drupal. You'll need to enable content copy module in CCK. Then go to your bio content type and select manage fields. Now you can remove unwanted fields or move certain fields into a field group.

The default field groups are important if you want to use the default panel page. Also make sure you have the latest CCK module (version 1.7 or later), otherwise you may see this on your panel page.

After this, if you go to your profile page, you instantly see a good looking profile page. Great, except that you can not post any comment on a user's guestbook.
Enable comment setting to be read/write of your bio node will only affect all the new users. All the bio for old users still have their comment disabled (we
could manually change the setting individually as admin). I don't know
